The Prayer
In simpler times
When people prayed they made more sense
For example:
The oldest prayer in the world goes something like this:
"Look to this Day for it is Life
The Very Life of Life
The Glory of Growth
The Rapture of Action
The Splendor of Beauty
For Yesterday is already a Dream
And Tomorrow has yet to Begin
Therefore this Day must be Well-Lived
For it will make all Yesterdays seem Dreams of Happiness
And all Tomorrows Visions of Hope
I have seen the Morning for the Last Time
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn" *
In those days long ago
Death was rejected each morning when people awakened
As long as their souls never left their bodies
And so they lived each day as though they had seen the dawn
For the last time
If only it was that simple for the rest of us
*from the Sanscrit

Amen. Simpler times but the soul can rejoice and it is still possible to seize the day!
"As though they had seen the dawn for that last time"
Beautiful.

Amen back... and blessings on you and yours...
How true and how profound to feel this. Every time we stand for the Islamic prayers, the imam always says, stand together shoulder to shoulder, and get connected with The Lord as if this is the last time you are in attendance! I love that. The depth and sincerity of the prayer is so heartfelt.
Thank you for your kind words...and it's so wonderful your son is coming to live in our country with his new family... Our 3 daughters have also been busy repopulating our land with 5 great-grandchildren in the last four years... All boys!... Blessings on you and yours... anshallah!...
